YouTube Spotlight: Jelly and Day

Share your story of becoming a YouTuber. How did you get started?

I, Angelica always watched LGBT related channels on YouTube and one day I approached DayLynn into making videos with me. She absolutely hated the idea but after begging her over and over again, she decided to compromise and make videos with me!

Our first year on YouTube was us mainly goofing around with our dog, Bear in which are no longer available to watch for the public.

Our second year on YouTube consisted of us creating “Challenge” videos. We thought this would be a great way for the both of us to connect/challenge one another as a couple, as one would do playing video games or board games with their significant others.

This year will officially be our third year on YouTube! We decided to take our channel in a different direction this year. We will be uploading more personal, real life scenario videos. Does this make sense? We wanted to reach our audience personally and get acquainted on a much deeper level rather than simple challenge and tag related videos.

What do you love most about creating videos?

We love that through Youtube, we have had the opportunity to connect with THOUSANDS of individuals around the world. We love being able to film a video and know that there are people that need a good laugh or in some cases, need to understand that we all have personal issues as everyone else. The most important part about creating content is knowing that there is in fact someone who watches you, loves you, and wants to know that they can, in one click, find a video that makes them feel comfortable with who they are and what they stand for in life.

Describe your lifestyle (what makes you choose the things you review) and a few of your favorite brands. Who do you wish to work with in the future on a collaboration?

We think the most important aspect when reviewing a brand is making sure that you genuinely enjoy their product. When we see a brand we think to ourselves: Is this something that we genuinely like? Is this something we would use in our day to day life? And most importantly, do we think our viewers would enjoy a video where we mention this particular brand?

We admire a lot of different brands but in accordance to a specific genre that would be hard to answer! When we see a brand that absolutely stands out against the others; that’s when we know that it’s time to send over a proposal.

We have worked with the following since we first started Famebit in December:

  • DogVacay
  • DeepVMusic
  • Spin For Perfect Skin
  • Love With Food
  • Cool Snow Globes
  • Flexbelt
  • What The Sock
  • Minisuits Selfie Stick
  • Cozy Critters Neck Warmer
  • Penned App
  • City Prints – Valentine’s Day Special
  • Tagstr
  • Digit
  • Tidepool
  • Nicciolata Hazelnut Spread
  • LIP – Anti Aging Lip Serum
  • BleachBright
  • Magic MIL
  • Skull Shaver LLC
  • Shifting Status Kuo
  • EverlastingWaist
  • JustPaint.Me

It’s hard to say who we’d like to work with in the near future but if something comes up that we absolutely love, we will probably die of excitement for being able to even work with them!

What is your current setup for shooting videos?

Our setup for shooting is usually in our apartment. If it is more of an advice video, they are on the bed so the environment seems more relaxed. If it is a skit that we are filming, we try to film in the house so there is more room to film and incorporate different surroundings into a video so it doesn’t seem too clustered and it is more entertaining for the viewer. We are working on trying to find other ways/places to film so the environment of the video doesn’t seem the same each time.

What advice would you give to YouTubers just starting out?

Don’t try to be like any other YouTuber. Be yourself because in the end that’s what makes you, you! It sounds so cliché but it is only the truth. Coming from two female YouTubers who have tried everything in their mindset to make something out of themselves, trust us. Make friends with people along the way because these are going to be the people who you grow closer to as the years go by through your YouTube career. We have made the closest friends on our journey through YouTube!

Find something that YOU think that you would do good at and just… go for it. Do not crush yourself for not receiving as many views as you expected. Views are cool but interaction between you and your viewer is way cooler. Put your heart into it because then you will make friends and grow even closer to your fanbase. Your viewers will stick with you as long as you stick around for them. I mean let’s be honest, without them where would you be? A lot of people tend to forget that.

What do you like best about FameBit?

Where do we start from here? FameBit has given me (Angelica) the opportunity to continue doing what I love, creating content, for a living! Never in a million years would I think that I could say that YouTube is my full-time job. We’ve only begun to work with FameBit and it has given us incredible opportunities! We’ve had the opportunity to work with awesome brands, with awesome products, from the comfort of our home.

We will continue to use FameBit as long as it’s around (FOREVER) and hopefully the both of us will be able to make a full-time living with one another. Spending quality time together is what we’ve been hoping to have with one another for a little over 4 years now. I don’t know how else we could thank FameBit if they made our dreams come true. Here’s to a continued business with one another for years to come!

A few faves please! (food, movie, quote, etc)

We love anything that has to do with traveling, ways to pamper one another like spas or pedicures/manicures, our favorite genre of movies and shows are comedy and horror, anything health and lifestyle related because we love to keep clean and healthy, and food in general is are favorite – I mean am I right?

Thank you so much for having us!
