YouTuber Spotlight: Rachybop

Share your story of becoming a YouTuber. How did you get started? What inspires you/ any muses? What do you love most about creating videos?

I started using my youtube channel years and years ago just to upload videos I took on holiday and things like that but then I discovered iJustine and realized that YouTube could actually be used as a platform to express myself. I have always enjoyed making videos (I am a freelance animator) and making people laugh so I use YouTube as an outlet for creativity that might not otherwise of go anywhere. I love that there are no limits. No one telling me what to do (not that I have to listen to anyway!). I get feedback from my audience and bend and shape my channel according to what they like and I enjoy making.

Describe your lifestyle (what makes you choose the things you reviews) and a few of your favorite brands. Who do you wish to work with in the future on a collaboration?

I work form home anyway so my lifestyle is pretty sedentary. I try to walk a lot and travel as often as I can to keep life interesting. I have a gaming channel and an iPhone channel which I use to post daily vlogs of what's going on in my life and a little more behind the scenes of my creative process.

I have worked really closely with EA in the past and other various brands like SteelSeries and fashion brands. I love having support from brands, it's a great and uplifting experience. I'm open to review most things. Sometimes I hunt down companies because I love their product and other times they come to me. Either way I think the most important thing is to be honest with your opinion on the actual product. I also find that most brands love that too.

As long as you are constructive in your review and tell them how to improve their product they will love you for it. I would really love to work with Vaseline (addicted to their lip balms for life) and Disney (a girl can dream).

What is your current setup for shooting videos?

I have a Canon 1100d and a jvc handicam. I use a mixture of tho depending on what I'm shooting. I have a light thingy but hardly ever use it as I prefer daylight. I use Adobe Premiere CC to edit.

What do you like best about FameBit?

I love how it bridges the gap between the YouTuber and the brand. You can just see what the company wants straight off and send a proposal if you want to be sponsored by them. Better still, you can get paid for it! It's not all about the money but a little bit now and again really helps justify the time spent making the videos.

A few faves please! (food, movie, quote, etc)
  • Fave food: Richmond sausages in a pasta bake.
  • Fav movie: Pulp Fiction.
  • Fav quote: "Shoot for the moon and if you miss you will still be among the stars."
  • Fav Book:  The Secret by Rhonda Byrne
  • Fav colour: Purple.
  • Fav Band: Bon Jovi.

What advice would you give to YouTubers just starting out?

A wise YouTuber (iJustine) once told me to never give up and follow my dreams. I would say the same to anyone starting out in anything you do. If you want it enough you will get it. Love what you do, be happy and enjoy the ride. Subscribe to channels that inspire you and find your niche. Be unique. Also, Subscribe to me ;)
